Reusable connected pens for Novo Nordisk 3 mL insulin cartridges. They store dose amount and timing for the last 800 injections and transfer the log by NFC into compatible diabetes apps, where it can sit beside glucose data. They capture doses well but do not calculate or recommend them.

Novo Nordisk has current Australian patient, use, and app-support pages for NovoPen 6. That evidence does not establish Echo Plus availability in Australia or live inventory at every pharmacy; neither model is US-approved, and app availability varies by country.[2]
These tools do not automate basal insulin. Scores reflect what the shipping product does for injection users: reliably capturing doses, turning glucose and insulin-on-board data into useful guidance, and reducing daily burden without hiding regional or insulin-cartridge lock-in.
The full picture
NovoPen 6 and NovoPen Echo Plus are conventional reusable insulin pens with one useful addition: an automatic memory. They store the units, date, and time of the last 800 doses—at least about three months—and transfer that history when the pen is tapped against an NFC-capable phone or reader.1
The receiving app can place injections beside blood-glucose or CGM data and share them with a clinic. Novo Nordisk lists integrations that include Glooko, FreeStyle LibreLink in supported markets, Dexcom/Glooko, Dexcom Clarity, and mySugr. That is data integration, not dose automation: neither pen calculates a bolus or tells the user how much insulin to take.1
Echo Plus is the half-unit model; NovoPen 6 is aimed at larger whole-unit dosing. Both take Novo Nordisk insulin cartridges and are not approved in the United States. Availability and which receiving apps work are market-specific.1
There is bounded evidence for NovoPen 6 in Australia: Novo Nordisk Australia maintains a current patient page, local user guidance, and a connection page that lists FreeStyle LibreLink as compatible in Australia.2 Those pages do not establish Australian availability of NovoPen Echo Plus, and they do not prove that every pharmacy has NovoPen 6 stock.
