Allogenic islet cell transplantation at University of Chicago

Long-running Chicago phase 1/2 donor-islet transplant protocol using intraportal allogeneic islet infusion plus immunosuppression. Included to capture active donor-islet transplant variants beyond the pivotal Lantidra/CIT trials.

Primary endpoints

  • decrease in insulin requirement - Subjects able to maintain fasting blood glucose concentrations below 126 mg/dL and 2-hour post prandial levels below 180 mg/dL will be considered to be insulin independent.
  • decrease in incidence of hypoglycemic events
