Capillary OGTT and home testing in children at risk of diabetes
Recruiting UK study comparing finger-prick glucose with venous OGTT and testing whether a capillary OGTT can be performed acceptably at home. Its T1D cohorts include young people with multiple islet autoantibodies, but the wider study also includes children being assessed for type 2 diabetes.
Primary endpoints
- Agreement between capillary and venous glucose during OGTT
- Feasibility of using the capillary OGTT device at home
Results so far
No results posted. The study is recruiting an estimated 135 participants at four UK sites, with primary completion estimated in February 2027 and full completion in August 2027. It tests measurement and feasibility, not whether home OGTT changes progression or clinical outcomes.
