NOMAD: unannounced meals on open-source vs commercial AID

A not-yet-recruiting randomized crossover study comparing open-source AID (Loop, AndroidAPS or OpenAPS) with commercial AID (Control-IQ or Omnipod 5) during standardized unannounced meals in adults already using open-source AID.

Primary endpoints

  • Percentage time in 70–180 mg/dL (3.9–10.0 mmol/L) during the 4 hours after standardized unannounced meals

The full picture

NOMAD asks a practical question: when meals are not announced, does an experienced open-source loop hold post-meal glucose as well as Control-IQ or Omnipod 5? It is not a pivotal of a new pump. Until it starts, it is a registered design, not a result.
