SHIELD-T1D: Shingrix and semaglutide for beta-cell preservation

Saudi phase 2 randomized trial testing Shingrix, semaglutide, their combination, or placebo in adults with recent-onset type 1 diabetes to assess whether immune adjuvant plus GLP-1 support preserves C-peptide.

Primary endpoints

  • Change in 2-hour stimulated C-peptide AUC during mixed-meal tolerance test at 12 months
